I'm tired of hearing it after 10 years, that'about 800 times. I got tired of Stairway To Heaven after 5 plays; You Shook Me All Night Long after 3. Eight hundred is really pushing it. I can't be held respnsible for anything I might do under the influence of that song.

They could use the extra $5 and get Steinbrenner's granddaughter to sing it instead of Kate Smith every game. Does anyone remember her rendition from the 2009 World Series? SmileSealed

I understand you are tired, but the people who died are still dead, and the loved ones who lost them most likely still grieve ... if all things should stop when people get tired of them, why do we still play The National Anthem at the beginning of each game? ... if it were up to people that grow tired of things, we wouldn't be doing that anymore either ... for those who are tired of it, probably a great time for that snack or bathroom break! Wink

Get over it.  Just because the constitution allows for freedom of religion that doesn't mean REMOVAL of religion.  This country was first formed by very religious people.  It's the foundation of everything this country stands for.... like it or not.  People are in no way oppressed by the singing of "God Bless America", though they claim it offends them (thereby oppressing them).  Well, you don't have to listen to it so your not oppressed by it. I find it oppressive when people try to dictate to others that their faith in god is flawed and ridiculous.  Instead of paying $5 per ticket to have it stopped, pay the money to some kids charity- at least it's money well spent.

just tired of the genericana. there are many ways to honor the slain. i find it more honrable to keep their memory alive with something inspired, rather than a mindless, cliche'd droned out, energyless rendition of an exclusive song.

Some of the founding fathers, including Ben Franklin, were atheists.

As for the $5, use it to buy Swisher's CD, or at least promise him to never record another one. Tongue out
