Mo, I want to thank you and so many others here for making this season even more enjoyable for me.  The Yankees gave us an exciting run, that unfortunately fell shy.  Give credit to the Tigers, they earned the victory.  Too often fans forget there are 2 teams in these games.  To Joe G, the team and the front office, THANK YOU for 2011.

God Bless you all this off season and may He allow ALL of us to be back posting throughout this new season.

P.S. has the 2011 post been deleted??  Did it ever really exist?  Did I dream it?

Welcome Back Carter...Laughing...very great stuff...did you post this for my benefit?...because that's exactly the way I felt last night!...ya' know with all your acknowledgements and thank yous it makes me think that you are packing your bags and leaving for the off season?...is this what we do?...do we clean out the lockers and call it quits until next season...I mean personlly I don't think I could handle the withdrawl...for me it would  be pretty severe...this will be helping me to answer one of my questions..."what happens now"?

Mo, Im very excited with the new thread...I think you being very conservative, but you certainly know a heck of a lot more about this stuff than I do...anybody hear from Lola?...other than the results of the game, did she have a good time on her date?

115, you can expect less activity on these boards during the offseason.  However, many of us diehards will be around.  You can also expect the whining and doomsday folks to chime in and write that every offseason move is horrible and that they arent making enough moves.

Oh, and sure the "Welcome Back Kotter" clip was just for you.

After much disappointment and frustration, it's time to  turn the page.  Yankee provided me with great entertainment filled with excitement as they get into contention for post season baseball with regularity.  Disappointed indeed, but I'm ready for the challenge of what next season will bring.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

You know there are times when I read your posts (and re-read, and re-read)...that I simply have to stop and take a deep breath...I can't imagine attempting to "keep up" with you in person...can you shut this magnificent gift off...do you sleep well; or do you need assistance...i.e. Lunesta, Ambien,..possibly a smedgen of Haldol, a pinch of Thorazine...any of the above; all of the above...I'm beginning to think that you did not find Jesus Christ; but rather the Good Lord found you and sent you to all of us for our comfort and well being...bhjoe, you are one remarkable dude...and you still have to show me how to do that cool (crappy) stuff...my day is over...I'm about to start my commute home...you going to watch any of the other games....I know!...I have an excellent idea...let's start a game thread for the Phillies and the Cards and let's see who comes...whadaya think?Tongue out

115, your kind words are very appreciated.  As far as sleeping well, I don't.  In fact, a few years ago a Dr prescribed ambien for me and told me it would put me to sleep in a matter of a few minutes, 3 - 5 tops.  Well, the first night I took it I got nervous after 35-40 minutes and didnt fall asleep until about an hour after taking it.  The second night was pretty much the same result.  So (get ready to be surprised) those nights I have difficulty sleeping, I find prayer to be the best prescription.

I might watch some of the Cards game.  The Brewers game will be too early for me to catch much of it.  Safe travels home my friend.

If we are diligent and post those messages that may be a little off topic here, we can reach the goal of 2012.

As Phil Hughes would probably say (in the words of Paul)....

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength."

After the news I got today, I need the off topic messages, keep 'em coming! Wink

To be honest, in the beginning of the season, I did think we'd win the WS. I though it was an outside shot of making the playoffs this season, and although I was bummed about being knocked out of the playoffs, this team exceeded my realistic expectations for 2011.

I always figured that 2012 was "the year". With Nova having a full year under his belt, Cano just entering his prime, Granderson seeming to find his HR stroke and ability to hit lefties, and Montero ready for a full season in the Bronx; hopefully 2012 will be "the year" as I want Mo to go out on top. I dont wanna say he definately wont, but I dont see Mo going on past 2012. Mo has 5 championships, the all time saves record (though he could probably care less), will be entering his 17th full season, and has kids who hate seeing their be gone for half of the year. Also, it seems that the Yankees may have found their next closer in Robertson. As I said, I dont wanna say he definately wont, but I dont see Mo continuing past 2012. So hopefully he can go out on top in 2012.

Cleese, to be quite honest, I felt the same way ... winning the Division this season exceeded my realistic expectations for 2011 ... so I'm not all that annoyed.

I do hope that we win it in 2012 though ... would be a nice way to say farewell to Mariano!
