This season has been so wacky. It seems everything predicted didn't occur. Since it makes rational sense to pick Rangers, I'll pick the opposite ...Cardinals in 7.
Right.... Cards are the underdogs. So were the Giants last year.

It's become much harder to predict with expanded playoffs,which are a joke IMO.
A joke? Doesn't baseball have the least amount of teams in all sports in the play-offs? It's not like it's the NBA where you can play below .500 and still make it in there. I think 8 teams is enough and I hate the idea of them adding another WC team so the two face off to see who makes it in. I think play-off baseball is near perfect, I feel they should change the first round to 7 games. Don't understand why that has to be a short series.
The more teams that are in the playoffs, the more chance there is that a mediocre team will win. When there was only an 8 or 10 team league and the winner was decided by a 154/162 game schedule you didn't have many mediocre teams going the WS.

They need to extend the LDS to 7 game series. That would help weed out some crappy teams that make the playoffs.

These numbers look more like football scores rather baseball. With bad pitching...tonight's game is far from entertaining.

The difference is that 2 of the HRs were "meaningless" (as STL was already up 12-6 at the time of HR #2), where as all 3 of Reggie's were impactful.

All the Braves had to do was win 1 game of their last 4 games. They were even leading by 2 in the 9th inning and lost. That's how close the Cardinals came to missing the playoffs.
Indeed...they got into the postseason because the Braves choked..period. And then they got hot at the right time while the far better teams lost in short series.
That and they have Albert Pujols.

The next couple of games might also be high scoring as starting pitchers used will be far from stellar. I'm hoping Cards can win two out of three in Texas.

It was much less entertaining. It was quite boring after the Cards made it 11-6.
