Glad to see Paps go.  Don't remember who posted it but it is true...just another reason to hate the Phillies.  Good riddance Paps.

NYDeb,

Should we send the Phillies a Thank You Note?  I lived in South Jersey about 5 miles from Philly. I can't wait to see how the Phillies fans  react and what the philly sports media write with his first blown save for the team. I hope that it fellows  a pattern of   a  Mitch Williams type monment.

Point is that Philadelphia  Phillies fans  and sports writers can brutal on their players mistakes. It's been that way since the 1960's. Afterall after July 1st, the town will become a Eagles camp not matter what the Phillies are doing in the NL east.

True that. Funny thing is i dont think they have the offense to do much next year. I cant see Thome even coming close to Howards production. They need to resign or replace Rollins and Utley just hasnt been himself with those injuries. Victorino will have to be resigned after next year.... and on and on.

*Edit* Forgot about Pence. Sigh. Mayberry jr was pretty decent dont know if he can repeat that. If Brown can even come close to his potential they should be fine..

Wow, you guys are good. I just read about Pap "possibly" signing on PROJO.com, the Providence Paper website a few minutes ago and thought I'd post my first breaking news post of the year. I haven't been on all season since I lost my dad, Al B. at 95, the world's greatest Yankee fan ever, on July 2.  He lived in RI and passed with the Yankees up by 3 over the hated Red Sox!!!

Sorry for your loss, at least your father was able to live a nice long life.

Papelbon probrably wanted to get a fresh start else where.  Boston have become a free for all lacking a manager and lacking direction.

It's been a free for all for a long time.... everyones jumping ship now!

What is telling is that Papelbon didn't even give the Red Sox a "would you care to match this offer" call.   While plenty of Yankee bench and role players have opted for greener pastures, I am hard pressed to think of a starter or key member of the pitching staff that has opted to go elsewhere while still productive.
