The idea we should go after a pitcher because he handles the Red Sox well isn't enough of a selling point for me.

What about because he pitched to a 2.94 era with a large portion of that in a hitters ball park in the scorching Texas heat.

Exactly. Another great point for Wilson.

I hate when people bring up eras during the play-offs to determine whether or not he is a quality pitcher.  C.C. other than 2009 has been horrible during the play-offs, didn't stop us from re-signing him to the largest salary for a pitcher.  Also what is a pitcher a factor in maybe 5-6 games if they make it deep during the play-offs?  Certainly not enough of a sample size to say he can't pitch good in October.

But is enough when they are demanding the kind of contract C.J. was and you're on the wrong side of 30. C.J. Wilson wanted number 1 starter money when he's more of a 3 or 4.

Wilson was the ideal fit as the #2 behind CC, and once again Cashman comes up short. Wilson's whip/era..ect, are all in the range of a top tier #2 or a low tier #1.

15-16 million a year would have been a good move.

Add in he handles the Redsox with ease.

I just don't grab Cashman, he stated over and over the need to solidify the rotation and he still has done nothing.

I'm not into the Gio G. option as well, as gets raked by the Redsox.

Yanks are stuck with a rotation of CC, Nova, Burnett, Garcia, and Hughes. That is winning no WS and everyone but CC is a ?. Only Nova improving to where he's a legit #2 is what i can see happening. Burnett will give the same old.. 5 era and .500 record, Garcia while he is a winner, who knows what he'll give next year?, and the Yanks burned out Hughes's arm and it's wishfull thinking to believe he will be a #2/#3 pitcher.

And still only one lefty in this rotation, makes no sense.

Wake me up when Cashman wakes the heck up. :(

Cashman's quite awake.

Self-imposed team payroll cap. Thank Randy Levine for squandering $11+ million a year on Rafael Soriano.

Not to mention A-Rod's contract..which will be a albratross around the Yank's necks for another six years.
