Nationals, Fielder Agree To 8 Year Deal

Cleese Posts: 4,179	According to Scott Swaim (@MLBInsideNews) the Nationals and Fielder have agreed to an 8 year deal which includes an opt out clause after the 3rd year of the deal. ----------------------------------- No other source are report anything remotely connecting stalks between Fielder and the Nationals and it's been more than 30 mins since Scott Swaim made the initial report. Swaim is the same guy who was reported the Yanks and Angels were discussing swapping Robertson for Trumbo (which wasnt reported anywhere else and it went nowhere) and that the Blue Jays won the Darvish bidding (which obviously was false) but he was also the first to announce the signings of Pujols, Wilson, Beltran, Furcal, and Cuddyer....so he obviously has some credibility.

Cleese Posts: 4,179	Jim Bowden of ESPN is saying that the deal is not finalized but that the 2 sides are talking. Scott Swain insists the deal is done and that Fielder is flying to Washington today for a physical.

As long as its not Texas or Toronto I'll be happy. Let him stay in the NL. I'm going to enjoy giving it to my family who are mostly Met fans. They still think Santana is going to have a Cy Young type year. lol
