[ 9 years though is really amazing.  Boras did a hell of a job and it kills me to say that.

what worries me is he is Cano's  agent. What is he going to try to squeeze out of the Steinbrenners after the 2013 season?

My guess is that he is  going to demand 9 years at at least  25  million.  Hal might let Cano walk.

I can see him getting the 25 mil, but they'll never give Cano that many years.  They'll let him walk before they do that.  I would hope they learned from the Arod contract.

I'm thinkin 8/160ish. The trend on these decade long, 200 million dollar contracts will start to phase out, with the new CBA taking effect. Otherwise, they will have to up the cap. Only so much room for guys like that in the league, as there aren't enough teams that can afford them, and the ones that can can't fill the roster with them.

One less team for Johnny.  It does not help his asking price at all.

If Cano continues to put up the same numbers he has the last 2 years and continue to improve, the Yankees better be prepared to pony up big dollars for Cano. Boras will nickel and dime the Yankees to death. Cano is hands down the best 2nd baseman in baseball and is just entering the prime of his career which should last for the next 4-5 years.

Cano will be 31 when (and if) he hits free agency. My guess is Boras' will try to get a contract that is about 8 Yr/$195 Mil ($24.3 per)

Ideally the Yanks should cut off infielders at around 35 years old

Horrible signing for the Tigers, Fielder is good but not that good.
