Woman Extorts Cashman For $6K, Claims They Had Inappropriate Relationship

Im not saying Cashman is at no fault at all but the story this lady is claiming doesnt make sense. Like previously metioned, the voicemail is just to casual to be anything serious. Especially when Cashman stated his full name. If you're supposedly having a relationship with someone like this lady is claiming, you would tend to leave a voicemail starting out like "Hey its me" or "Hey its Brian". You also dont tend to state the others person name when you begin leaving a message, like "Hey Lou, this is..."

Another thing, if this was supposedly some affair like the woman claims, why would Cashman call the police? You'd think Cashman would just keep paying the lady money so the lady would keep her mouth shut so Cashman's wife wouldnt find out.

I get the sense that this is something like Cashman just being a nice guy and helping the lady out but the lady either wanted more and Cashman said no which pissed the lady off, or the lady was trying to take advantage of Cashman to get money.

Yankees "100 percent'' behind Cashman

According to a source I spoke with last night, Brian Cashman, "is totally 100 percent supported by the Yankees'' in the matter of the woman arrested Wednesday evening on charges of allegedly stalking and extorting the Yankees GM.

Asked if there could be further repercussions for Cashman if more revelations come out, the source said, "The team considers this a personal matter. He's a grown man who was being harrassed. The team will stand behind him in this.''

Neither Cashman, team president Randy Levine, nor Cashman's attorney, Eric Creizman have returned phone calls seeking comment.

Little slimbag... You don't pay extortion unless you did something wrong, harrassed = bull dinky!!  As the facts unravel his head will roll, the Yanks should release him on a morals clause and focus on 2012.  Cashman is expendable, Yanks have all the money in the world and went two seasons without a decent rotation, the little man should be sent packing immediately before this becomes more of a distraction.

Yeah, Guilty until proven innocent eh?

Who knows, maybe this is why Cashman hadnt done much during the winter until recently. He was to consumed with the crazy lady to be able to totally focus on improving the team. Once the crazy lady was taken care of, Pineda was acquired and Kuroda was signed. Unlikely thats the case, but who knows...

you really don't believe that , Cleese do you? Cashman has  always said that sometimes trades come together very fas t( like the Grandersen  trade) and sometimes they take months ( Swisher deal)

I'm not passing judgement but paying 6 grand makes it seem like he was trying to keep something quiet.

It's only going to get uglier from here folks. In the same breath, rumors of his cheating have been going around the past few years..this was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I looked more into this situation, and it ain't pretty. Cashman does have a history of cheating with his wife. Also, Meanwell has a history of Stalking. You can pick which is right. But, I won't be surprise if both are right. What I believe happened is Cashman was with this woman before and she wanted more from him. Brian saw it as an affair and Meanwell saw it as a relationship. I guess Cashman got tired of her and stopped the affair and she got mad about it. She started to use the affair as blackmail. That's why she got money from Cashman before. Then when she asked for $15,000, he got fed up with this and called the police, even if his wife finds out. His marriage was on the rocks anyway, so he probably knew it wasn't going to last. That's why his wife just file for divorce. I don't know exactly if this is true. We will see what the judge finds from the stalking situation to paint the picture for everyone. As for now, the Yankees announce that they will support Cashman 100%.

It's sad to see this happen. I look up to Cashman because my biggest dream is to one day work for the Yankees and hope I become the GM. This does hurt how I look at him as a person. Marriage is big for me, as I am saving up to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. It's a promise to be loyal to that person and to always be with that person "for sickens and for health...til death do us apart". It's a sad situation and I feel horrible for his now ex-wife, Mary, and their 2 kids.
