I'm apprehensive with this game.  Giants are expressing lots of bravado with talks of a parade prior to the game... this is not the Giants way!!!  I like them to respect their opponent and answer the call on the gridiron.  With sports media pointing Giants to win..this makes me nervous.  From what I can see, those sport writers are wrong more times than right...with that said I will nervously sit by the edge of my seat in willing the Giants to win.

Go Giants!!!!!

sports writers predictions and confident/smack talk have literally no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Smack talks emboldens opponents to come up big.  Shutting up your opponent provides an added incentive for the kill.  As I recall.....All the smack talking Jets provided emboldens the Giants to shut them up on the gridiron.

well that and the fact that the jets stunk.

champions don't need extra motivation to play better, losers do.

it's hilarious that people actually believe dumb things like this...sanchez vs manning had nothing to do with it?..the giants pass rush got to sanchez cuz of the jets chirping right? lol

I did a google image search for "Brandy+Yankees hat" and there are a lot of photos of Brandy wearing a Yankee hat.

Likewise I did a google image search for "Eli Manning + Yankees hat" and came up with nothin'.

Most of that trash talk is media influenced and/or distortion. The Superbowl is 2 weeks after the Conference Championship Games. They need to fill in 336 hours/14days/2 weeks, however you want the break down. A player might make the most common comment "I believe our team can win" and some media guy looking to make a name for himself will flip it and say "Player X says he believes the Patriots cant possibly win this game" or "Player X guarantees victory"...  It's just media hype.

I truly believe that the better team on THAT day wins the game. A few years ago the Patriots were the superior team all season long, yet ended up 18-1, the "1" being the most important of all 19 games. I think people get too superstitious with the whole "jinx" thing. They are athletes, let them speak their minds and let the media do their job by distorting the truth. 60 Minutes will answer every question made, and prove many wrong and many right.

But if the 2 weeks that lead up to the game are all about nice tweets and sending the opposing player's children the newest pillow pets, then it will be a very boring 2 weeks. The more talk, the more ratings..

As far as Rex Ryan (not the Jets, the players dont talk much, it's Rex), he doesnt have the QB to back up his words... He has a hall of fame RB as his 3rd stringer, a guy who got arrested for shooting...HIMSELF as a Wideout and a QB who's probably more famous for being a hispanic QB than anything else.. Cant compare these teams.
