Best secret weapon: Giants punter Steve Weatherford, this envelope is for you. Knocking three balls inside the 20 would be impressive enough, but Weatherford dropped three balls … inside the 10. His kick of 36 yards to the New England 6 set up the game-opening safety. Late in the second quarter, he dropped a 51-yard punt out of bounds at the Patriots' 4-yard line. In the fourth, he pinned the Patriots at their own 8. In a tight game of field position, Weatherford was huge.

* * *

Weatherford has been amazing as a punter all season long, too. Last SB win, the Giants had all-time great punter Jeff Feagles. The other SB teams had Sean Landeta.

Coincidence? I think not. In a game of position play, nailing it deep can be the difference in the game.

Jonah, I can't agree with you more.  Weatherford had been a rock for us all season, just as he was with the Jets before.  What a steal.

I think the unsung heros are the fans who stuck by their coach unlike the idiots who called for his firing after every loss.....

Weatherford was great and didn't Westcoff takes shots at him after he left the Jets to sign with the Giants. Chase Blackburns interception was another huge play that seems to hardly mentioned. The Pats continue that drive and add another score I think we might have another outcome. Pretty good for a guy who was sitting home halfway into the season.

That was more Brady's brainlock, heaving desperation pass on first down.

Still a very big play. Brady escapes the sack and you think he might turn that into a big play but it turns out better then him getting sacked. Blackburn made a nice catch with Gronkowski on his back.
