What a shame ... I don't want to be judgmental ... I hope this was just a one-time mistake by Lorenz and I hope he can get past it.

we need to be judgmental here - this isn't some private matter, what he did was like taking a loaded gun and firing it randomly in a public park, lucky for him he didn't hit anyone.  So I hope he feels the shame of what he did - I also hope it was a one time thing and there's no reason he shouldn't continue to work as long as he apologizes publicly to his town since they were the ones he put in danger...

Be as you may, and I will be as I may.

Yikes!!!  With Cashman having issues, Yankees didn't need additional set of problems with Lorenz going forward.

I fail to see how this could have any impact on the yankees as he doesn't even work for them, he works for YES network.

Yankee Global owns the Yankees and 34% of Yes Network.  Yankee Global is own by the Steinbrenner family.  Although they control only 34%, the Steinbrenner have a degree of influence in regards Yankees representation.

Who owns the YES network? the Yankees?

Q. Who owns the YES network? the Yankees?

A. When YES launched, investment banker Goldman Sachs owned a 46 per cent share of the network. In late 2003, the Yankees and Nets decided to part ways, with the Nets being sold to a group led by real-estate developer Bruce Ratner . This sale did not include the Nets' 20 percent ownership stake in YES, which remained with the pre-merger owners of the team. In 2004, YankeeNets was renamed Yankee Global Enterprises LLC , which owns the Yankees and 34 per cent of YES as separate companies. Yankee Global is owned by the Steinbrenner family.

thank you for proving my statement that he doesn't work for the yankees...

Yankees do have financial holdings with Yes network.  That being the case, Yankees do have a voice in his representation of their brand.  As Lorenz is associated with the Yankees doing pre and post games, his job is in a precarious state.  Situation such as his doesn't occur in a vacuum, for you to say it has no impact on the Yankees is incorrect.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

Not good Bob.... Thank God he didn't hurt anyone. It sounds like he's got a problem, I hope he gets help.

All I'll say about drunk driving is this...I have a friend whose grandfather was killed and another whose father in law is in a wheelchair because of drunk drivers.

This wasn't some mistake, this was a choice he made to drive drunk, the lives of other people be darned. I felt the same way when Joba was arrested and what happened with the Jim Leyritz saga.

While I do hope he gets the help he needs, I have no pity for any consquences he faces..they sure as hell aren't as bad as the ones some of my close friends have suffered.

I like Bob,  but there is never any excuse to drive  drunk. The fact that he passed out behind the wheel with the engine on and car in drive at an intersection? That is not good.

I wonder if this will cost him his  job.

Driving while one has been drinking is a very fine line.. Many, and I say many people have gotten under the wheel when most would not have passed a breathalyzer test.. In saying that it's a judgement move by an individual that can cause great harm in more ways then one.. Only some know if Bob L. has a problem or this was just one bad time for him.. I'm sure there will be some repercussions from this and it could very well cost him his job.. I never like to see someone have to loose a job because of one foolish mistake, but like I said, is this just a once in a lifetime mistake or has he been treading on thin ice for a long time ??

It only takes one time though..the driver who hit my friend's FIL was only 17 and had never been in trouble her entire life before that.
