I was at the game.

He looked confident. He looked good. He was the beneficiary of 2 double plays.
I would like to see more swing and miss when he pitches. I don't think he's fooling anyone..not yet anyway.

The gun said 92 was his top speed today.

That is all!

His first inning wasn't impressive. A lot of hard hit balls and a bad call on that double play at second. The runner should have been safe because the 2B never had the ball. I switched to watch CC after the inning.

His greatest challenge is to stay healthy. If he can stay healthy, then the chances of repeating the success he enjoyed in 2009 & 2010 will be great.

I wish they would just give up on the Hughes starting thing and make him a reliever.  He's got the makeup for it and his stuff is perfect for it.  His secondary pitches have never developed like we hoped they would, so he's really a 2 tool guy, perfect for the pen.

What little I got to see him pitch, he looked much better. I think if he stays healthy, he will have a bounce back year and win 15 games this season. I'm not completely sold on Nova being able to repeat, and think he may actually be the odd man out right now with Garcia being the number 5.

i dont think you hughes fans needs to worry about him getting edged out for the 5th spot by garcia.  i think when it comes to hughes...the words bad, stink, terrible does not apply.  he will get 10000000000 chances and after that 100000000 more.  hes younger, hes gets paid less...he was hurt....all factor in the 1000000000000000 chances he gets.

You tell'im. LOL..........You tell'im. Wait until he starts throwing that straight fastball 93 or 94 for two innings and is throwing it 90-91 by the 5th inning. He'll mix in that mediocre cutter. Watch out.
