Francesa says other starters are not happy about Pettitte being back

Garcia can ill afford  to complain that Pettite signed a 1 year contract.  Girardi better speak with him and tell him to shut up, we do not want a cancer infecting the rest of the Team, or another Boston Red Sox type Club House. I am happy with 7 starters though I don't know how it  will be sorted out.

I'm going to defend Garcia here. Not for a job, but for his comments which were pryed out of him after he'd already said all the right things. Most real reporters would let him go in such a sensitive situation after he'd answered a couple of questions, but here the clown wouldn't let him go till he could use him as a target...very unprofessional, imo.

While I agree mostly with what you said, the competitor in me would piss me off if I was Garcia. The rotation is set, there is no competition (until Andy comes back) there never was and Freddy knows it. I didn't want him back anyway but he kind of did get screwed

I'm hoping that having Andy back on the team lights a HUGE fire under the guys who might be whining about their spots.

If they lose their spot that's going to be something that the likes of Garcia, Kuroda, Nova, Pineda, Hughes, or Garcia need to work on as other have said in this post.

If Andy is back or has what he did when he played for us in the past then these whining clowns need to have a Warm cup of shut the hell up and just man up and try and pitch their hearts out.

All I can say is welcome home Andy and good luck to however is going to lose their spot in the rotation.

He has to earn the spot.... same goes for everyone. I wish I'd get screwd to the tune of  4mil.

Hey Aussie! I hope Andy pitches lights out but this suggestion that there is a competition is a joke. It's no different then when they sent Nova down last year. There was no competition there either and that decision was made before the Yanks did the deed. Freddy has been around long enough to know it.

Itt's Phils job to lose. My only point is that Garcia can throw 15 shutout innings in ST and as long as Hughes or Nova don't completely blow up Freddy wasn't going to be in the rotation and he knows it. 4 mill is a bit steep even for you LolaLaughing

He probably took less money to comeback to the Yankees and went into camp with a guaranteed spot. They even traded AJ because they had too many pitchers. Then the job became Hughes' to lose and we all saw how that played out in ST 2010. Now they bring Andy back and Garcia is painted as the bad guy. WTH

To anyone going through a difficult time right now  remember someone always has it worse.
