Psych....

Now that I got your attention I'm curious if anyone here uses a music cloud service. I have an iPone and am looking into iTunes match but there are options out there that provide cloud service for free.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get a psychiatric exam, rather quickly.

I've been using MOG -- it's pretty amazing. I don't know what a "music cloud service" is, but I'm sure there's an iPhone app.

cloud options are limited, nothing is free that I can find via phone. So I use Pandora for general mix of sorts and Grooveshark for full albums. Mog is a nice service, bu I believe it requires a charge for mobile use though.

music cloud is basically storing your music collection on the services servers. With google music you can access your music off the web or with iTunes match you can access your non iTunes purchased music from your devices and itunes.

I got an iPod touch recently, and it has a feature that lets you back-up and sync your files in the cloud with other Apple devices. It's useful if you are an Apple freak and own everything they make, but I only have the mp3 player, so there's little use for it other than backing up some of your files. I think the most useful feature is the ability to send text messages with other iPhone/iPod touch users completely free of charge. It saves you from needing to get a phone plan, and most people only text nowadays anyway.

I don't know what they charge for mobile -- I pay five bucks a month for my account and, so far, it's well worth it.

yeah they'll back up your files and itunes purchased music for free (up to 5gb) but if you want to use their cloud service for non itunes purchased music you gotta pay 25 bucks a year. The one cool feature I found with it is you don't actually upload songs they have available in their catalog (you only upload songs they don't) instead it "saves" your playlist. The cool thing about this is you can download any of those songs in 256kbps drm free .aac so I'd get a nice bitrate upgrade on low quality not quite legally acquired music... in theory of course.

is the 5 bucks/mo. fee to eliminate ads? I have pandora one and I pay someting like 36 bucks a year to eliminate the ads. well worth the fee.

With the service I mentioned, the music isn't "mine" -- but I like it for it's simplicity. I type a search for Van Halen, click on "Albums," and every Van Halen album appears instantly. My Roku box has a MOG channel, so I can use it on my TV.

I gotta say -- for eighty bucks that Roku box is a steal.
