Romney, Who Has Two Harvard Degrees, Says Obama Spent ‘Too Much Time At Harvard’

Unfortunately for Romney, his attack is undermined by the fact that the GOP presidential hopeful has twice as many degrees from Harvard as Obama. Romney earned a combined JD/MBA from the elite Cambridge, Massachusetts university. That means Romney spent an extra year at Harvard, getting the combined degree in four years, compared to Obama’s three for the JD alone. Indeed, Romney thrived at Harvard by all accounts.

Romney has previously attacked Obama for taking advice from the “Harvard faculty lounge,” even though one of Romney’s top economic advisers is Harvard professor Greg Mankiw.

Romney has also taken at least $32,000 in contributions from Harvard faculty and administrators.

Obama was hired in Chicago as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Roseland, West Pullman and Riverdale on Chicago's South Side.

The Developing Communities Project (DCP) is a faith-based organization in Chicago. DCP was organized in 1984 as a branch of the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) in response to lay-offs and plant closings in Southeast Chicago in the 1970's and 1980's. In 1986, DCP was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization under the leadership of its first executive director Barack Obama. It continues to provide literacy, job training and leadership development programs, for which it has received multiple awards, such as the 2007 Chicago Community Organizing Award.

So Obama went to work helping others in need.

Romney went to work to place people in need by destroying

jobs and stealing pensions.

Obama has proven, even with a so-called Harvard degree, of which we have no idea what his grades were, that he can't even man a lemonade stand.

Romney on the other hand, would find ways for the government to subsidize the lemonade stand.

If Romney put in his time at Harvard, digested their teachings to their satisfaction, and is critical of it's influence on our political system he would seem to be qualified to make that judgement.  I just wish he was getting advise from Jeffrey Miron rather than Greg Mankiw.

Obama graduated from Harvard

magna  laude (not comparable)

  1. "With great praise"; an honor added to a diploma or degree for work considered to be of much higher quality than average.

Looks like the flipping-flopping Mitt was trying to

appeal to the airheads that comprise the fading

Tea Party movement.

Would you mind sharing a link where it states as such an honor was bestowed upon Barack for his grades in Harvard? Or is it simply the usual conjecture?

Thanks.

Obama joins list of seven presidents with Harvard degrees

Barack Obama, 1961-
President-elect
J.D. mcl ’91

What was Barack Obama's class rank at Harvard Law School?

We do not rank students at HLS. The student with the top GPA is awarded a prize, the rare student who gets mostly A+s is awarded summa **** laude, there are many years where no one obtains this degree.

However, one can infer from his magna **** laude degree that he was in the top 10% of his class. His position on the law review could mean he was high within that 10% bracket. But there is really no way to know where he ranks from #2 through 10%.
Magna **** laude is awarded to the top 20% of graduating students. Summa **** laude is awarded to the top 4-5% of graduates. SO, he could not be in the top of his class as reported.

Again, where do you come up with him as magna **** laude, nowhere on the Harvard page does it state as such. All it states is that he graduated.

Nothing but conjecture.

Obama has never released his grades and as it is widely known, Bush had higher grades at Harvard than did Obama. Imagine that.

See if you can get Harvard to send you his transcripts.
