i know we've given hughes and nova a shot but i feel like theyre so stingy with allowing a young rotation. i think the kuroda and garcia signings were unnecessary. does anyone really think kuroda and garcia would outpitch phelps, mitchell and warren by that much (if at all)? i know betances and banuelos arent ready but i think if we had cc, hughes, nova, pineda and phelps/warren/mitchell we'd be fine and younger and more cost efficient.

Phelps, Mitchell, and Warren are all UNKNOWNS.

Were the Kuroda and Garcia signings necessary? Are you kidding me?

Is this the same messageboard that was around in 2008, when the Yankees went with Hughes, Joba, and Kennedy? What happened when these pitchers (minus Joba) failed to pitch to expectations back then? *cough-cough*.... Nothing.  Remember, the Yankees had to give Sydney Ponson, Dan Giese, and some others a call to take their place?

So again, were the Kuroda and Garcia signings necessary? AGain, Yaaaahhhhh......

Kuroda and Garcia are like placeholders for our young pitchers. If those two pitch well, GREAT...it's a win for us. If they don't, the Yanks can drop them at the end of the season or even trade them in the middle of the season. LOL...two pitchers, with the ability to walk at the end of the year, making 10 & 5 mil are very very tradeable and would be in demand by teams in post season contention.

In the meantime, our young pitchers need to be opportunists and take advantage of every opportunity to show that they belong pitching for the fabled New York Yankees.  C'mon guys...you and I well know there is very little room for error when someone plays for a Professional New York sports team.

Look, I am all for giving our young pitchers a chance because I do have that MUCH patience. However, I can understand the thinking of the Front Office when they decided to pursue and sign these pitchers. The logic is there.

Good HITTING cannot hit Good PITCHING; Good Hitting can only hit BAD PITCHES.

come back to me at the end of the year when he hits .285 with 8 homers and 61 rbs with a .740 ops and tell me that's worth 18 mil. look i like derek, i just think its a poor allocation of resources.

i'm in favor of patience with young pitchers. we delay delay delay and sign older pitchers from other teams for ten times the price of a young guy. we then tinker with the young guy, yank him back and forth, or give up on him too soon. we just need patience and to allow these guys to be comfortable (i.e. kennedy). we dont need the garcias of the world. if phelps were starting we'd save the 5 mil for garcia and get the same production.

lmao.  I always laugh when I see that commercial.  I worked in a hospital my entire career and I could just imagine me walking into the ER and telling those nurses the problem.  "Here I am girls, don't tear me apart !" lol

we make the playoffs every year...  we do it even though we shredded money on guys like Brown, Hitchcock, Igawa, Farnsworth, Johnson and you choose to complain about giving money to Jeter?  a guy who still helps us win???  makes zero sense to me...
