That was a great job by Swisher coming through for us in the 10th. I sure hope Swisher has a big year, I mean it is his walk year. And how about Tex!! He hit something to left field!!!

Swisher gets too much flak on this board IMO! Glad to see you're appreciative. The next time he goes 0-7 he'll get killed again. There are a lot of teams out there that would love to have him.

Actually you are doing the same thing as Swisher detractors only taking a different perspective. People get on him when he goes 0-7 with RISP or hits .160 in the post season. Is that over reacting? Maybe or Maybe not. But to throw it back in people's faces after he got one hit is a little premature as well. Suggest we all wait until a couple of months into the season and then decide. But to be honest Swisher needs to hit better this year with RISP and in the post season to overcome the perception a lot of people have about him.. otherwise there is enough history to warrent the criticism.

Not for the money he's getting right now.. He's had his big payday.. He should be in the prime of his life and he's a feast or famine type player.. Another product of Yankee Stadium short right field porch..

This all or nothing stuff kills me.  Swisher is a bum who should be immediately cut when he comes up short in clutch situations, and then when he gets a big hit the other side comes out of the woodwork, saying, "See!  Idiot."  It was a great HR, no doubt.  I like Swisher.  As a guy, he seems like he'd be fun to have a beer with.  As a right fielder and 5 or 6-hole hitter, overall, he's pretty d#@$ed good.  He does, however, seem to have a propensity to squeeze the bat a little too hard in key spots, and there is a reason he is, like, what, .180 in postseason play?  A lot of the criticism is valid come October.  (Same with Tex).  Not that he should be replaced with a random player.  But it'd be cool if he had more night like last night, especially in the ALD(and C)S...

Good job Swish!

It was great that he got the homer but how many times did he come to bat when all they needed was a sac fly or single?

It's nice to look at the positives, instead of always counting up the negatives!

I know, the guy just drives me crazy sometimes leaving RISP.

Nice clutch hitting!

Are you being sarcastic or serious?

Sarcastic. I read where someone said he padded his stats in blowouts... I just had to start the thread.

My Gosh!

What are you doing on the YES boards?
