Yanks place Manny Banuelos on Triple-A disabled list

The Yankees have placed top prospect Manny Banuelos on Triple-A disabled list with a sore back. Brian Cashman told George King that the left-hander is expected to miss one start with a lat issue, so at least it’s not a disc. Banuelos, 21, walked six in two innings last night and was underwhelming in his previous start, so hopefully this back issue explains it and he can move on.

Hopefully everything will be fine. I question whether this explains the command issues entirely though. He had them last season too.

I have to agree.  I would take it very easy with this thing.

Hearing ellsbury has a subluxation, a type of dislocation, of right shoulder. Early estimate: Out up to 2 months.

Yikes! Bad news for Ellsbury and Boston.

Too bad for the young man.  He's a good young player.   I feel bad for Bobby V too.  lol

No. 2 JOSE CAMPOS, RHP YANKEES
Team: low Class A Charleston (South Atlantic)
Age: 19
Why He's Here: 2-0, 0.00, 2 GS, 11 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 3 BB, 11 SO
The Scoop: The RiverDogs have jumped out to an early lead in the South Atlantic League team ERA race thanks in large part to Campos, who has held opponents to one hit and one (unearned) run through 11 innings. With just three walks issued, his WHIP stands at a minuscule 0.36. In other words, Campos has started his Yankees career in sharp contrast with Michael Pineda, the other pitcher New York received from the Mariners for Jesus Montero.

Last night when I was watching the Orioles they mentioned that Campos was the #2 prospect in all of baseball.

Campos or Banuelos?  I love Campos, but I haven't seen him anywhere higher than #5 or 6 in the Yankees rankings in any of the rankings I've seen.  I said when this deal was made that this kid is the real sleeper in the deal.

lol  Yeah, such a shame for poor Bobby.  I didn't see them making the playoffs again this year, and that was before this kid got hurt.  Without him and Bailey they're in some serious trouble.
