Wilson also gave up hits but was able to get out of them. I still wouldn't trust him in the post season as far as I could throw him.

No, they needed a 5th starter and Pineta was hurt and Andy wasn't ready and they were wishing and hoping a little.

Phil looks better then he did last year atleast. He is lacking a put away pitch so it seems. I didnt get to watch todays game, Fox out here in NM had the Rangers game. But from what I heard from the radio, i really like this MLB.tv subscription, Phil was good but not really econimcal with his pitches. He still needs to work on things but he has improved from last year, thats for sure!

i think Hughes has enough "stuff"... but he doesn't know how to pitch... and he may never learn either.

"it's when the Yankees score eight runs in the first inning .....and then slowly pull away"
Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert , on a perfect afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

I believe Hughes has the "stuff"  but he doesn't know how to hide it as his various "grips/body langauge " are decipherable .  Hitters seem to know what kind of balls are coming out of his hand. The can delineate his various pitches to lay off of the ones darting out of the strike zone thus increasing his pitch count at a rapid pace.  When successful pitchers  like Johan Santana  throws a ball...... from his hand you cannot tell if it a fast ball, change up or anything else.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

His best year - by far - was 09 when he was a reliever.  We won too. Put him back there. He's not a starter. I think his starting career derailed in Texas in 07, despite his good first half of '10.

Phil Hughes  looks different and good so far.  More confidence I see in him.  Hope he does well the whole season and post season as well.

He just can't pitch for the Yankees. Ala Ian Kennedy.  I was wrong , he needs to be packaged in a deal.

Surprised Did I just see that? AJPP, the all knowing poster, admit he/she/it was wrong?!? SHOCKER!
