This isn't a thead lamenting the trading of Montero.  But I would like to see some young bats.  As in "any."  Outside of Nunez, who do we have?  I know, I know, if a hitter is good, what does it matter?  In one sense, it doesn't.  But besides the obvious need for an influx of youth to replace departing, aged superstars, new young brings with it a certain vitality, an exhuberance that can help, IMO.  Especially in games like last night where the offense suddenly turns dormant.  Call it the intangible of exitement.  Does anyone know who we have knocking on that door?

There are young bats in the system, but they're a little ways away yet.  Mostly they're at low-A right now, so figure around three years if some of them develop.
