I'm not watching any ceremony either. Fenway could be used as a toxic waste dump for all I care.

I thought it WAS a toxic waste dump. After all, the Region I EPA headquarters is in Boston.  Now we know why !

That was nothing, compared to the Red Sox ring ceremony in 2005 in front of the Yankees at Fenway. I know it was the "classy" thing for Torre and some of the players to clap for them when they got there rings but bah... it still annoys me thinking about it.

I did exactly the same thing.

I don't begrudge them their stadium.  They can have it.  The Fens was basically a swamp that filled with sewage until it was backfilled and Frederick Olmsted  figured out how to make the tide flush it out twice a day.  So, that smell in the prk.... Is natural.

I prefer the Bronx, thank you very much.

My wife DVR'd the ceremony and I just finished zipping though it.  I thought it could best be described as a cluster#$^*. The difference between a Yankee Stadium presentation/celebration and a Fenway something or other is as apparent as the difference between the 2 teams. Glad I'm a Yankee fan-

Wasn't able to watch but would have if I could.  First major league game I ever attended was at Fenway (1954, Yankees beat the Red Sox).

Sorry I can't share the vitriol, and can't be bothered to hate opposing players just because they play for another team.  Players that are jerks, like Ricky Henderson, for example, are another matter.

Fenway Park is one of the grand old parks of baseball. The Red Sox major rival for the past 100 years has been the Yankees. Any Yankee-Red Sox game brings together two of the most historic franchises in history and the occasion was a time to celebrate. You people sound ignorant. Are you 2 years old?

By the way Boston was a garage band at best. See The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Doors, etc. You lack any sort of sophistication as a group. You're not well educated and cultivated people. You probably drink Narragansett beer.

I thought it was great -- at least the part I was able to see. For some reason they kept cutting back to Lorenz and the other guy. I don't know why. It sure brought back a lot of memories.

Totally agree.  Wouldn't watch that garbage if they paid me.

Man, take your meds.  I too found much of the ceremony enjoyable to watch, but why did you need to insult people who chose not to watch it?  Oh, and as a life-long working musician, I beg you to stop with your snobby spit at anything that happened after 1975.  The man who founded the band Boston was a graduate of MIT and also an inventor.  That seems pretty educated to me.  The bands you listed are five of the ten best rock & roll bands ever, by the way.  But saying that an entire group of people lack sophistication and are not educated because they may enjoy something else too??  Sounds a little narrow.
