Some ominous clouds on the horizon

Not trying to rain on the parade and yesterday's win was incredible but just like with losses I look longer term than just game to game.

The fact is starting rotation so far isn't nearly as good as advertised. Garcia and Hughes major regression in 2012, CC as usual having a slow April, and the news about Pineda... not good.

I know people are counting on Andy but I just don't think it's realistic to expect him to get here and not miss a beat just because his name is Andy Pettitte. I said the same thing about Clemens a few years back and I got ripped by the win-now posters. How did that turn out?

There won't be too many more of these feel good moments this season if this starting rotation doesn't turn itself around and soon.

Do you expect Andy to be ANY better than Garcia? If so, its a move forward!

Obviously I hope so. Realistically, who knows how a 38+ year old who hasn't pitched in over a year in the major leagues will do. I see talk like Andy will get this rotation back on track... that IMO is more based on wishful thinking than anything tangible.

My point is the big win yesterday masks some pretty serious deficiencies in this starting rotation that few of us expected to see...but at least we don't have Boston's bullpen! lol
