I'm ok with him....its just those false HR calls that drive me to heart problems

When listening to Sterling I have a 5 second rule. After he describes a play count to 5 and see if he corrects himself.

that's exactly what I do - the fake hr calls are the worst but even the simple plays confuse him...  I swear I heard him call a play like this once, I'm sure I don't have it word for word but this is pretty close...  "and the pitch....  lifted foul over first and into the seats....  the count is 0-1....  no wait...  that's a ground ball to second for the out...."

BTW - anyone hear the Daily News 5th about a week ago?  they had some chick on who said about 5 words the entire half inning...  Suzyn kept setting her up and her replies were either 'yes' or 'no'....  it was hilarious!

At this point he's comical. He did it last week too. He thought the ball was foul and it was caught by the OFer to end the game. The ball wasn't even close to being a foul ball or even close to being in the RF corner. It was like he was watching a flyball from a different game. Here's the link.

In that video the RF barely even moved.  He was nowhere near foul. Wow that one is one of the worst I've seen/heard.

I remember that because they played it over and over again on one of the NY Sports Radio shows. I like John but over the last few years he made way too many mistakes. At this point he should either have is own sports talk show or be in the studio for Yankees games.

Kay = TV ~ Sterling = Radio If Kay said "SEE YA!!" and then moments later corrected himself it STILL wouldn't equate because KAY ISN'T ON THE RADIO!!!

When I was a little kid my Dad took me to my first game and told me how to judge a flyball hit to the OF. Look at the OFer and he will tell you how deep the ball is hit. Kay doesn't seem to know that. As an announcer he should. But to him almost every flyball hit is deep. He's not as bad as he used to be since Paulie teased him about it a few years ago. As you said at least Kay is on TV and we can look at the OFer ourselves and not pay any attention to Kay. Kay is also famous for. "If it's fair it's trouble". The ball usually lands about 50 feet wide of the foul pole.

Try ityourself.  It ain't easy filling up air time, trying to keep people listening and to add excitement.

Waldman does a great job with her content, the only issue is her voice is a bit annoying.  Sterling's content is weaker, but his voice is good.  It's tough putting the two factors together.  In the end, this combination is much better that the converse situation.

True Carp.... I have to give them credit... are they perfect, no.

Some of Sterling's home runs calls have gotten a bit corney. His call for Andrew Jones..... was Merry Andrew! Keeping up with the Jones! Foot in Mouth

The worst is his Granderson HR call. For those who haven't heard it he says. "Curtis you're some sort of grandish" Then he starts singing. " The Grandyman can, the Grandy man can." LOL!!!!! He sounds like he's lost his mind.

That one is bad too... Imagine being Suyzn Walman sitting next to him when he breaks out in song. Surprised
