It shocks me that baseball can have rampant steroid use for 20 years, then poo-poo at the thought of having the all-time hits leader in the Hall just because he placed a couple of bets. I think the way MLB runs things is if you acknowledge what you did wrong and apologize, you have a better shot of getting into the Hall of Fame. That is the only way A-Rod, Pudge Rodriguez, etc. still have a shot at being allowed in. Even Ken Singleton said A-Rod would probably be in the Hall despite what we know happened. He used for only a short time and fessed up about it and they probably see him in a more favorable light because of it.

If it was proven that Girardi or Torre bet for or against the Yanks - while managing them - and that, say Strawberry juiced as a Yankee....which would tick you off worse?

Stop comparing the two crimes, they do not equate.
