Also he sited that it might have been the innings increase last year.

back in the olden days...  well, most of these injuries to young pitchers happened in the minors so we didn't hear about them years ago, guys come up a lot sooner today than they did in the past so the bad arms were weeded out...  folks have to look for some excuse (over-work, etc.) to explain things when in reality some guys have amazing stuff but their arms were made to only last a couple of years...  maybe Pineda is one of those guys...  that's the Vandelay Theory of Pitching Injuries

Note to Cashman; you don't get a young, healthy dominating starter in a trade for an unproven prospect, who has no position, without caveats. That player is made available because the team trading him knows he is flawed or injured, usually both.

Truly a terrible trade in our part. Out a young pitcher and not getting any production from Russell Martin. Have to say I'm a big Montero fan (as the picture indicates) and didn't approve the trade to begin with. But the Steinbrenner's and Cashman never called and asked me my opinion.............lol

Campos is pitching well lets hope he s the real deal.

The Yankees, especially Girardi, would never have let Montero be the regular catcher. Russell Martin doesn't have much to do with this.

Both players came with caveats.

I can't repeat this too often: there is no evidence Pineda was hurt before the trade happened. None.

What makes you think Hammels would demand $25 million a year? He's not that good. We could have had Darvish for only $10 million and he is a lot better than Hammels.

what  part of this not being George's  team anymore, don't you get. Hal is determined to get this payroll under

189 million by 2014. He has been  quoted as saying recently that he strongly feels that there is no  reason why

he can' field a qualtity competitive team for less than 189 million and he is  right.

The only way they target Hammels is if :

1-they miss the playoffs

2- get eliminated in  1 game playoff as the  2th w/c

3-the pitchers completely implode  due to inability or injuries .

Hammels also said he wants to get paid   big time. That means 6-8 years at least  22-25 million and that is too

rich for the Yankees,

now I feel better, here is Miguel Cabrera on Jesus Montero (from FOXSPORTS):

".........Tigers third basemanMiguel Cabrera.

“We’ve been following him for three, four years,” said Cabrera, a fellow Venezuelan. “He’s one of the best prospects to come from Venezuela. We know he can be a superstar someday.”

Told that Yankees general manager Brian Cashman had likened Montero to a younger version of himself, Cabrera replied, “I wish I had that swing when I was 21. He’s going to be good, man. He’s going to be great. This guy’s got a chance to be a superstar in the big leagues.”

He’s actually 22. No matter. The point stands: Montero is batting cleanup for a major league team, while Americans his age are prepping for final exams.

“With that swing?” Cabrera continued, pausing to let out an admiring Hoo! with a subtle shake of his head. “He’s mature at that age. He looks to handle every pitch. He makes adjustments. That’s amazing to me. That’s something I didn’t have in the past. He already has it.”..........."

he is not right about eveything. Andy's 2 older boys Josh(18) and Jared(14) are in high school, not college grads.
Daughter Lexi is 11 and youngest son Luke will be 7 in June.
