How can this trade be allowed to stand?  I mean, of course it will, but, geez, seems pretty obvious case of damaged goods.  Caveat emptor, indeed!

I just hope the surgery is a success and they take there time rehabbing him. I don't care if we see him this season, as long as he is ready to go for next season.

Shoulders are much more serious than Tommy John elbow surgery which usually takes 12-18 months to recover from.  I'd be surprised if we see him until late next year.

Doesn't matter when he comes back.  How many pitchers have successfully returned from this injury?  And how hard were they throwing when they came back?  Chris Carpenter is the only one that really comes to mind, and I don't consider him a speedballer.  Hoffman.  Rauch.  Maybe I'm wrong (or just being pessimistic), but I don't don't see Pineda coming back from this and offering much.  The handwriting was on the wall with this one.  Someone's gotta be accountable.  Can't just say, "Well, he passed the physical."  There was a precipitous drop off that should've been a red flag.

There is a reason Seattle let a 25 year old "promising" starter go. You don't just give those guys up when you are trying to rebuild a team.

"Then don't watch the games anymore" why?  Because a pitcher has a serious injury?  How does that translate to stop watching Yankee games?
