I don't know about the town, but I think some of the fans might need one.

Hey Hall !  Good to see you back.  I said yesterday after the Pineda news broke  if Cashman would want to repel down a building now - without the ropes.

I would not be shocked if the Yankees decided to keep Swisher and pick up Granderson's 2013 option and dealt him next offseason.  They could get something good back for Granderson.  That would save money and years in the process resigning Swisher over Granderson, and Gardner could just slide into center.  Its easier to find a leftfielder than a rightfielder.

I don't know BigGuy. IMO to trade Granderson Cashman would have to be overwhelmed. I know he will want a big contract so that could be the main reason but the guy has played great. He's a great guy with a swing made for the Stadium, clutch and hustles all the time. I'd get rid of the other 2 before he went anywhere.

Swisher has been a steal for the Yanks and has played overall very well but he will want a raise also after this year and probably at least a 3 year deal. Is Boras his agent? I think he's gone after this season unless he gives the Yanks a discount.

The contract is the main reason I brought it up.  Granderson will get at least a 5 year deal for at least 5 mil per year more than Swisher.  I don't know if they'll do that, but they have to seriously consider it.  Granderson will get something good back in return and they already have Gardner to replace him.  Everybody assumes that Swisher is not going to be resigned, but I think this is a possiblity.  You read it here first. lol

i think they'll trade grandy at some point. they shouldnt wait until he tapers off though (like they are w/ garcia and others). we'll have o lock cano up for $22 mil per for 7 years. with the committments to tex and arod and cc and jeter to a lesser extent, i dont see a grandy long term deal. i'd rather restock w/ a couple of uppper tier prospects or ml ready high end young players.

I think we need a change, infusion of youth and to take a chance for once. moves i'd make:

1) Mitchell in for Garcia. (not a championship move but at least we see what we have in a cheap home grown guy. Trade Garcia for nothing because that's all he'll reap.
2) Arod to DH/3B occasionally. I'd rather have Arod at DH than Ibanez
3) Nunez to get steady time at third and hopefully stop making errors. We need this guy's energy and speed in the lineup more often. Quietly has a .430 obp.
4) Hughes gets a couple more chances max. if there's no change we really gotta think about moving him to be a setup guy. (i can't believe i'm saying this because i don't think you should give up on starters too soon but at this point its getting ridiculous)
5) Trade Granderson - this might be a good way to restock the cupboard. he can get a big haul and we can cross our figures and wait on mason williams for 2013. grandy is a FA soon anyway and are we really going to lock him up ALSO for 6 years at 20 mil per. i dont think thats wise.

all of these are peripheral moves. the real problem are the two albatrosses at 1st and 3rd base that get paid like top five in the league players and perform as average players. theres no fixing that for a long time so we've gotta to be extra smart and get the most out of homegrown, cost effective guys. enough with the garcias of the world.  sadly, the killer bee's look more like bumble bees.

Keep your day job! 1. Not ready.  2. Sure, let A Rod play occasionally at $30 mil a year.  3.Hopefully stop making errors??? Sure, I hope I hit the lottery. 4. Moving Hughes to a set up guy? Sorry pal we're loaded there and I wouldn't trust Hughes, the way he's pitching now, in that spot anyhow.  5. Of course, trade a guy that had 41/110 last year and leads the team again this year. Let's trade Cano with him while we're at it. As I said keep the day job.

LOL!!!! Great response. I thought it was bad enough and then I get to the trade Granderson part. Mind boggling!!!!
