Giants go with the WR from LSU.

Rueben Randle

New York Giants

Round 2, Pick 63

  • SI Grade
  • 3.02

Position: WR

Class:  Jr

School: LSU

HT: 6'3"

WT: 207 lbs.

40 Time: 4.5

Conference: SEC

Biography: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a junior with totals of 50 receptions/904 yards/8 touchdowns, with an average of 18.1 yards per reception. Sophomore totals included 33/544/3.

Positives: Tall, fluid receiver with a nice game. Quickly releases off the line into pass routes, is deceptively fast and gets down the field to make big plays. Sells pass routes, effectively uses his hands to get separation and comes back to the ball out of breaks. Displays good quickness, uses his frame to box out defenders or get vertical over opponents and pulls the ball from the air. Extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame and displays good eye/hand coordination. Exposes himself to the big hit and comes away with the ball in a crowd. Easily makes the deep reception in full stride and consistently catches the ball with his hands.

Negatives: Does not show much in the way of running after the catch skills. Slows into pass routes. Has lapses in concentration.

Analysis: Randle is a big-play receiver who watched his game take off the past two seasons. He offers the size, pass-catching skill and speed to develop into a No. 1 wideout at the next level. Randle comes with a lot of upside, and his next-level skills are underrated as we move toward the draft.

Jayron Hosley

New York Giants

Round 3, Pick 94

  • SI Grade
  • 2.92

Position: CB

Class:  Jr

School: Virginia Tech

HT: 5'10"

WT: 170 lbs.

40 Time: 4.41

Conference: ACC

Biography: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a junior with totals of 52 tackles/3 interceptions/12 pass breakups. Sophomore totals included 39/9/8.

Positives: Small yet effective cornerback with top ball skills. Quick flipping his hips to transition with receivers, displays good awareness and works well with safeties. Stays with receivers out of breaks, displays the ability to run with opponents anywhere on the field and effectively keeps the action in front of him. Remains disciplined with zone assignments and is always around his man. Quickly locates the ball in the air and consistently positions himself to defend the throw. Terrific burst of closing and recovery speed. Gives effort defending the run.

Negatives: Side shuffles down the field, which hurts his ability to quickly plant and break to the ball. Lacks size and loses out to larger receivers. Does not consistently display good timing in pass defense.

Analysis: Hosley is a versatile cornerback who displays skill in both man-to-man and zone coverage. He possesses the ball skills and speed to play at the next level, and his return ability provide added guy you. Size may prevent Hosely from being a starter at the next level, but he'll be a solid nickel back who can line up in a variety of defensive schemes.

Projection: 2nd

Giants reach big time, once again going with a physical specimen with little skill.

Adrien Robinson

New York Giants

Round 4, Pick 127

  • SI Grade
  • 2.28

Position: TE

Class:  5Sr

School: Cincinnati

HT: 6'4"

WT: 264 lbs.

40 Time: 4.56

Conference: Big East

Biography: Started 11 games as a senior and posted career numbers of 12 receptions/183 yards/3 TDs. Part-time player the prior two seasons.

Positives: Large, athletic tight end with an unpolished game. Looks imposing on the field and makes a lot of athletic plays. Bends his knees, picks up blocking assignments and works to play with leverage. Extends his hands as a pass catcher and makes the reception away from his frame. Displays good focus and concentration, keeping his eyes on the ball and coming away with the difficult grab.

Negatives: Lopes around the field, displays minimal quickness and playing balance. Really does not play to his 40 time.

Analysis: Robinson showed improvement in his play last season and then made his mark on scouts with an outstanding pro day. Rough around the edges, he's a developmental prospect that could secure a spot at the next level as a third tight end.

Projection: 7-FA

Brandon Mosley

  • SI Grade
  • 2.58

Position: OLB

Class:  Sr

School: Auburn

HT: 6'5½"

WT: 306 lbs.

40 Time: 5.14

Biography: Junior college transfer who?s started the past two years and was awarded All-conference honors as a senior.

Positives: Tough, reliable blocker who is best in a small area. Strong pass protector and easily anchors at the point of attack. Quickly gets his hands into defenders, stays square and seals opponents from the action. Sets with a wide base and works to bend his knees. Works hard until the whistle blows.

Negatives: Gets minimal movement run blocking. Displays a lot of stiffness in his game and struggles blocking in motion. Consistently bends at the waist and overextends into opponents.

Analysis: Mosely possesses solid size and a good feel for the position, but he?s a limited athlete who could have a career at the next level as an inexpensive utility blocker.

Matt McCants

New York Giants

Round 6, Pick 201

  • SI Grade
  • 2.48

Position: T

Class:  Sr

School: Alabama-Birmingham

HT: 6'6"

WT: 295 lbs.

40 Time: 5.4

Conference: Conference USA

Biography: Four-year starter at left tackle awarded all-conference honors after his senior and junior campaigns.

Positives: Terrific pass blocking left tackle with a solid game. Works to bend his knees, stays square and has the ability to adjust to defenders. Blocks with leverage, keeps the opponent in front of him and a terrific pass protector who makes good use of angles. Gets his hands into defenders and fights to keep opponents away. Patient, moves well on his feet and displays the ability to pull across the line of scrimmage and get out front then block on the second level.

Negatives: Lacks balance and tends to get tall in his stance as the play proceeds. Does not show classic footwork sliding out off the edge. Late with his hands on occasion.

Analysis: McCants has been productive and durable and showed consistent progress in his game the past three seasons. He's flashed ability at every turn and has nice upside. McCants offers starting potential at a number of positions on the offensive line if he continues to progress and complete his game.
