....amazing how another fan not even sitting close had a "clue" and tossed the kid her ball, but the couple right next to this lil dude was oblivious!

I had someone tell me that the parents declined the ball so they could teach the little one that he can't always have what he wants. I guess they were on the Today show.

Not according to this report:

A moment captured on TV during Wednesday night's Texas Rangers game has a lot of people talking. A couple celebrated catching a foul ball while the toddler next to them started wailing.

"Ahh, they can't give it to the kid," the commentator said.

Mitch Moreland threw the ball into the stands during the eighth inning of the game against the Yankees. The happy couple was apparently so busy taking pictures they didn't notice the boy was so upset.

But 3-year-old Cameron Shores' mom said what actually happened wasn't as bad as it appeared in the video. Crystal Shores said later in the game the couple did offer Cameron the ball but instead he went home with one a fan sitting behind the dugout tossed his way.

"We were talking, like I said, about the ball and he said if you hadn't gotten that ball I was gonna give you this ball. So he said he was gonna give it to him if he didn't get another ball," she said.

Cameron said he just remembers someone taking his ball and that he cried. But he has one now and that's all that seems to matter the biggest little Rangers fan now.

I don't get it?  what the heck is this story even about???  a kid whines at a game???  has anyone here ever been to a game and NOT heard the 3 year old near them go into a crying fit?  the biggest tragedy of this article is that there is a kid named Cameron....  God help me for even reading this story...  I want to drive into a tree now...

Art, the newscasters are slamming Kay and Kenny for thier commentary as this was played out over the balance of the game. I was watching it on Yes and the guys in the booth were on target. You had to see the whole thing. Now 2 days later, the fingers are pointed at them when this couple WAS tone deaf!

Let's try to be a little understanding ... this is a kid we are talking about ... baseball is HUGE in a kid's mind compared to an adult who can understand that someone else just happened to catch the ball ... a kid's heart is aching to catch that ball ... without the kids, where is baseball's future ... so let's give the kid a bit of a break here, alright guys!

THAT'S the entire "story" in a nutshell. And the gossipy sound and video-byte wussifying of American society continues on...

Maybe that couple has a kid or nephew that they want to give the ball to. It's a bad lesson when a kid screams over a baseball and gets his way. Toughen the kid up, he'll get over it.
