I dvr'd the game and just put it on.  I'm in the 2nd inning.  This guy just sucks !!!  He's gotta go- NOW!  If I didn't know better I'd think this guy was pitching like **** just to get out of NY.

Hey BG...I was at the gym and missed my first game of 2012.  I caught the last out in my car.  Since you DVR'd the game, could you tell me what I missed.  Did Garcia have his good stuff today?  Was he able to effectively mix his fastball with his slop pitches.  I hope they didn't squeeze him at the plate...did his breaking ball have much BITE?

inquiring minds need to know...

Steady Freddie Sanchez - 2012 CYA  20-4 1.82 3CG, 4sho...1st game starter WS

He was terrible.  He only lasted 1.2 IP.  That should just about tell you everything.  His fastball is slower than slow, and his split wasn't splitting.  He had nothing today,  and he was hit hard.  6 runs off him.  I think he gets pulled from the rotation after this one

After he signed as FA...I think they pissed Freddie off big time.  They signed him as a starter, then traded for Pineda and resigned Andy.  Some players respond well when the Yanks keeping their options open  and offer limited roles.  Chavez, Ibanez and Jones are good examples.  A starting pitcher who once had top of the ro stuff and who probably can't pitch in relief like Freddie won't like being moved around.  He looked good in the one st game that I saw but his attitude has changed.  Last year they stroked him, made him feel like a star.  They year Freddy may think they hosed him.  I don't think he cares anymore.  I'd release him, hope an AL team takes a chance on him and then hammer him when he starts against the NYY.

The Yankees' management is historically slower than a snail when it comes to making changes to the rotation; they tend to leave guys in the lineup 3 starts too long. I'll bet you he starts again next week. Girardi didn't seem too keen on booting Garcia just yet.

They should put him on the DL,and keep him there for the rest of the season, then he can go elsewhere. Why not? Why give him what he wants? IMO,he was unprofessional with his whining.

I'm far from defending him but can you cite his whining that you reference?

Joe is a genuine good guy,and he is supporting his player. Garcia needs a kick in the butt if he isn't injured.

No, he was upset about Andy Pettitte being signed.

I see the only option for Garcia is to become the New York Yankee batting practice pitcher, he can be an all star that way, I mean he can pitch to one of our home run derby entrants at the 2012 All Star Game.. Tongue Out

Then his good "stuff" would magically reappear.

... Pushing him farther back in the pecking order... Wasn't this common knowlege here a month ago?
