Tex is lucky there are people on base a lot for him.

But why do you assume he'll have 100-100? His stats have been slipping year by year.

Umm really that's why he had more RBI's in 2011 than he did in 2010.  In fact his run production has beem great since he been a Yankee, he just needs to make more contact and then he would have monster numbers.  The Yanks are facing Baltimore and KC this week, I'm betting Tex goes on a nice little tear.

Hope your right Robbie... It's getting late early...Wink

Thanks for posting this Robbie.  Tex's numbers other than avg and his runs scored last year have not been dropping.  I will agree that his runs last year was probably due to his OBP being down.  But Tex produces over the long haul, and he always starts slow.

If Tex drives in over a 100 runs a year...I dont think the Home Office cares that much about his average

What's up Doc!!  Good to see you in the boards.  I agree.  I think the Yankees are very happy with Tex and what he provides both offensively and defensively.  I'm sure they would like to change his hitting into the shift, but I don't think they want to mess with him much.

How are things going?!?!?! How are things going?!?!?!?!  Things are horrible.  The Yankees are not undefeated and each player is not hitting .350!!!

DFA the team and FIRE Cashman and Girardi!

They can't say their disappointed but paying him every year over 20 mil I think they expected more then a . 250 avg. in 2010 and .240 avg. in 2011. If he hit in the postseason that would help but I doubt they are thrilled with these BA's. If he keeps this up he's closer to Carlos Pena then Fielder. He talked up the need to go the other way more which I was impressed to see from Fielder  but as Old mentioned he had a couple of at bats yesterday with men on base with outside pitches and he pulled the ball. If that continues he will be in the .240's again. Not what they signed him for those big bucks.

I'm sure the Angels are having a panic attack with Pujlos.

I've been very critical of Tex, but I asked myself, SELF, is it better to have Tex hit .250/30/110 or .300/15/ 80? I think the Yankees paid him a lot of money for the former. Yes it would be nice if he hit for a higher average, but it is what it is.

I'm sure Pujols will start hitting, but your right the Angel FO has some beads of sweat on their brow. Actually, it could be said they're having a panic attack with the whole team. They've beenj shutout 4 times already and their pitching has stunk.

I thought it was weird yesterday that Detroit didn't shift on him, line other teams usually do.
