.232 is right where he's been for years now. He is a .230 hitter now.

Tex always gets off to a slow start. He's been one of the best players in baseball for a long time.

I've been very critical of Tex, but I asked myself, SELF, is it better to have Tex hit .250/30/110 or .300/15/ 80? I think the Yankees paid him a lot of money for the former. Yes it would be nice if he hit for a higher average, but it is what it is.

I'm sure Pujols will start hitting, but your right the Angel FO has some beads of sweat on their brow. Actually, it could be said they're having a panic attack with the whole team. They've beenj shutout 4 times already and their pitching has stunk.

If Tex decided to hit for average instead of power, his HR total would probably drop, but why would his RBI total decrease? If anything, getting more base hits would probably drive in MORE runs, not fewer.

Why is it an "either-or"? What happened to the 2009 Teixeira? The issue is he went from being Giambi-A's to Giambi-Yanks...a high average/productive bat to a strikeout/low average Dave Kingman with a better glove. It's just not a $180M player suddenly and it appears that it's because he's pull-happy.  It's harder to accept when it's plainly a rectifiable situation.

Just the idea of Tex hitting less home runs if his batting average were to go up 40-50 points is nonsense.. If anything his rbi and hr totals would also go up.. People don't realize, home runs come naturally more then they come because one is trying to hit them.. Anyone that thinks that way has never played the game.. That's the problem Tex and some others, they are trying to hit home runs and the results are they are missing and so does their batting average.. All one has to do is look at this short season already, how many times has Tex came to the plate with runners in scoring position and a single would have won a game or two where that swing for the fence attitude only resulted in a lazy pop up or a weak ground ball for the third out ?? Now which is more important ?? Wins or Numbers on the back of some bubble gum card ??????

Teixeira is a notoriously slow starter.  Last season he had 5 HR and 15 RBI in April and finished with 39 HR and 100+ RBI as usual.  Which i'm sure you and every other Yankee fan knows.  He's nothing more now than a 250 hitter most likely.  He's been getting hits taken away because of the shift also.  He needs to learn to adjust and try to go to left field once in awhile.

And if he doesn't drive in 100/100? Keep in mind, he was horrible with RISP - he just had tons more opportunities. You can't drive people in if they're not on base.
