Who beat the Yanks in last year's playoffs?

What does last season have to do with this season? Even if we were to say the Tigers were a pretty good team, the other 4 teams in that division are nowhere near contending for a playoff spot. The Red Sox, who just 10 days ago were on the verge of a complete collapse, just won 6 of 7 on the road against 2 teams from that division, and they didn't even play the worst team.

the nl west is weaker than the al central just on the fact that  the hitting in the nl west is much weaker than in the AL

Luv, I'm not sure what he could do to help Garcia.  He just has nothing left, IMO.  Hughes on the other hand has life in his pitches, but seems to be missing his spots and then has to serve up a meatball.  Rothschild needs to figure out whats up.

Hey BomberJoe hope you had a nice weekend. You might be right about Garcia, but I still think Rothschild should be able to work on something to increase his velocity 3-4 mph. Also, maybe his pitch selection needs to be addressed. I watched  this kid Smily have the Yankees in the palm of his hand by changing pitch selection and sometimes pitching backwards. Come on Larry, earn your money.Undecided

You people are truly amazing. You guys sit behind your computer and know NOTHING of what the Yankees are doing on a daily basis. I guarantee you Rothschild works with the pitchers every day. The one thing he can't do for them is pitch the ball. Regardless of how much he works with them, it's still the pitcher that must throw the ball.

That wasn't the point of the OP, go back and read it again. I'm sure Rothschild works on a daily basis, never said he didn't ,that's his job, but the point was where are the results and where are the people who killed Eiland?

Working with someone DOESN'T GUARANTEE RESULTS, regardless of who's doing the training.

Do me a favor and don't put words in my mouth and tell me what I know and don't know.

Why not? I KNOW you have NO IDEA what the Yankee trainers are doing on a daily basis.

I've forgotten more about baseball than you'll ever know.

Oh boy...REALLY? And you base that stupid remark on what? Another thing you DON'T KNOW.
