How about all the posts on here that said Nunez could never play out field ???  Proves this kid is a gifted player and the Yankees are very happy to have him on their team.. He got thrown into the frying pan and came out with great marks.. This kid will be the replacement in right field when they don't sign Swisher back next year, mark my words..

Pretty refreshing to see him have some defensive success. I think can stick in the OF if he can hit. But he's got more value in the INF if he can square away his D.

I've always thought that he could play out there.  Admittedly, he wasn't smooth or graceful, but that will come in time.  In the meantime, he's athletic enough to compensate for some of his inexperience.  Maybe the Yankees will send him to play winter ball somewhere if they intend to use him more out there in the future.  His offensive game is too good not to find a place for him to play.

He isn't pretty out there [....yet....] BUT,,,,,HE GETS TO THE BALL.  Swisher, Ibanez and Jones DO NOT!!! They need young legs in the OF.....not Octogenarians and /or 30 yr old Butchers who can't hit IN THE CLUTCH!!

He has a right fielder's arm and speed.  If he can judge the ball well with some time out there, he'll be good.  Some say he doesn't hit for enough power, but I think he'd be a 25 HR guy with a lot of doubles if he played every day.

...and plenty of steals...

This is what I see as well. One game doesn't make a season but I always felt he'd be able to handle an OF spot.

I hope they let him continue to develop as an infielder. He has the potential to be a greater value there.

new, I totally agree, his greatest worth to the team should be as an infielder.. But the kid has a lot of athleticism and shows a desire to succeed where ever they play him.. People just don't realize how hard it is to play all the positions he plays, yet alone play them at this level.. I think Nunez has potential to be a really special player some day.. I think the Yankees have the same feeling...
