He has a right fielder's arm and speed.  If he can judge the ball well with some time out there, he'll be good.  Some say he doesn't hit for enough power, but I think he'd be a 25 HR guy with a lot of doubles if he played every day.

With Gardner, Grandy and Nunez in the OF they will be very few tweaners that fall for hits.

Your kidding right?  The only time I want to see nunez in the of is when he's got his bags packed and carrying them to join a minor league team...

You take one look at how he positions himself...what he does when a ball is hit and you know he is awful in the of.

The right way for Nunez to learn how to play the OF is to have him play there in winter ball. For some reason the Yankees rather he learn on the job, with that there will be growing pains. To judge him on a couple of games isn't fair, especially on the way he positions himself which could easily be corrected by the coaching staff. Nunez has the arm and the athleticism to be a good OFer. But he needs lots of practice time.

Boy, you're not kidding there. Lots and lots and lots of practice time. And even then, I doubt if it will make him a respectable fielder. He's failed at every position that he's been placed at. It ain't gonna change over night. The guy is just a terrible fielder just like Hughes and Garcia are terrible pitchers.

I agree it was just plain dumb not to have him play winter ball in the OF and I think I heard last night that Girardi only played him one game in the OF in ST. Just like it was stupid not to have Posada catch a couple of games last year in ST or evem practice it during the season so he was just a bat off the bench . I don't blame Nunez.

Just trade his butt. It seems a lot of teams have asked about him. I like the kid on offense. I trust him in the clutch more than A-Rod or Tex, but his D is awful. And to think people complained about Johnny Damon in LF. LOL.

If he can hit the way the Yankees claim they can't give up on him just yet.

Right now I would take a guy who could catch over a guy who could throw.
