Amazing isn't it?? If it was up to some of these posters, the Yanks would have no one on the roster because no one meets their expectations. Turning into a board of Jonahs and AJ's

I luved Hector Clip. I recall as a boy, my dad telling me that the mark of a good player is a guy like Hector, who can come into a game, cold off the bench, in a clutch situation, and deliver. Number 11 did that quite a bit. Glad to see that he's still alive. Many of those guys are moving on to the Field of Dreams.

No kidding clip! Talk about a guy that had hands of stone and the Yanks were never able to hide him at any position. He guy could hit though. As a matter of fact doesn't the way Nunez swings remind you a little of Lopez? Not the stance but the way he loops and whips the bat. I remember Casey or Houk would use Lopez to pinch hit late in the game and then put him on 3rd. My cousin would scream like a mad man

Actually Casey used him at 3B in 1959, because Andy  Carey was hurt with a bad back. In 1960, while Casey was sideline in the hospital with an illness, Houk took over the Yankees, using a infield of 1B Moose skowron, 2B Bobby Richardson, Shortstop Tony Kubek , replacing Lopez with Clete Boyer at 3B, using Hector Lopez in the outfield, usually left field. Casey adopted hs idea with  Clete Boyer at 3B.

How about all the posts on here that said Nunez could never play out field ???  Proves this kid is a gifted player and the Yankees are very happy to have him on their team.. He got thrown into the frying pan and came out with great marks.. This kid will be the replacement in right field when they don't sign Swisher back next year, mark my words..

Ummm,  are you STILL thinking that today?  LOL
