Lauren, I really thought he had great stuff tonight. He hasn't had bad stuff all year but he's got to stay away from those bad mistakes. I could have hit those mistake pitches he threw for HR's. Like someone said it's a start to build on as I thought he looked a little more confident on the mound

I think he was charged with 4 ER. But even if you want to be generous 3 ER still gives and ERA close to 5. How is that a quality start? Have our standards become that low?

A qualty start should factor in the lineup you face. Giving up 3 runs in 5 innings doesn't look so great when you consider the lineup he faced included Nick "hitless for 6 months" Johnson and about 5 guys below the Mendoza line.

Pretty much. Hughes gets through the 5th inning and it's glorious.
