Quality start for Hughes, something to build on....  5.2IP, 4H, 3R, 1BB, 6SO, 2HR

I think he was charged with 4 ER. But even if you want to be generous 3 ER still gives and ERA close to 5. How is that a quality start? Have our standards become that low?

I posted his line prior to Logan giving up 2 hits.  With that said, a loss for Hughes is there regardless if he gave up 3 or 7 runs if Yankees offense delivered 1.  Certainly with his prior games, this one is something to build on.  In Hughes' case it's an improvement.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

A qualty start should factor in the lineup you face. Giving up 3 runs in 5 innings doesn't look so great when you consider the lineup he faced included Nick "hitless for 6 months" Johnson and about 5 guys below the Mendoza line.

Its amazing how similar Hughes' numbers this year are to his 2008 start. Maybe what you see now is what you get.

For what it's worth,it's good for the team and Phil himself to see improvement. I hope he keeps it up.

You call this start an improvement?

Wasn't it?  Whether it was good or bad in your opinion... in fact, it was an improvement.

According to the way you evaluate teams (inning by inning) the Orioles are like the '27 Yankees. You're a funny guy AJ

On the wrong side or otherwise,  AJ enjoys being a contrarian.  When it comes to debating, he would be exhausting to opponents.  If he enjoys arguing.  Forums like this one is right up his alley.  An obstinate adversary, I'll take him on my team if debating is my forte.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.
