OUCH!

Torn hamstring shelves Longoria for 4-8 weeks Rays third baseman suffered injury sliding into second base
ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays third baseman Evan Longoria will be out four to eight weeks with a partially torn left hamstring, executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said Tuesday afternoon. Longoria left Monday night's 3-2 win over the Mariners after the third inning, when he reached on a one-out single to left field and was thrown out trying to steal second. "He's always been a pretty good healer. He's had some hamstring issues in the past and has come back from them pretty quickly, relatively speaking," Friedman said. "We're not going to put a firm timeline on it, but to get back here, I would say a best-case scenario for him to get back before six weeks or around six weeks.

One less bat to worry about while we face the Rays.
