How do you lose to Brian Matusz?! That's like losing to Freddy Garcia.

You blame Hughes for losting to Matusz?  Even if Hughes gives up 10 runs, Yankees are not going to win with the offense delivering 1.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

Its rather pathetic that a 6+ ERA is an improvement. This is Hughes' 6th year with ML experience he should have found himself by now. Its also pathetic that Hughes represents an important part of the rotation instead of a 5th starter they are experimenting with. If you look at the Rays their worst SP is Matt Moore with a 4.20 ERA, and he will probably be the ace soon.

I agree 100%. Hughes is terrible and has been for over 1 1/2 seasons. What I can't stand is his attitude. He acts like each start is a spring training start or something. "Well I was better and more aggresive" Duh, aren't you always supposed to be that way? As I've said before, the only thing that he could win is one of those hotdog eating contests.

Maybe we should hire Charles Nagy, the Dbacks' pitching coach, he turned Ian Kennedy into a 20+ win guy.  Kennedy's 3-0 this year....

You know a pitcher is horrible when he can't even make through 6 innings against the O's and it's called a better outing.  Sorry I see nothing impressive from Hughes, too many fouled off pitches as usual driving up his pitch count.  Against a patient team like the Red Sox or a meatball crushing team like the Rangers he is lucky to make it through 3 innings.

The problem is I don't think that there is anyone on this earth that can help Hughes.

I'm with you! Send him back to American Legion ball. I don't care where he goes as long as he goes

I wouldn't fire Rothchild right away.  Let's see if Kevin Long can work with him first, and maybe get him turned around.  He taught Granderson to hit lefties, surely he can teach Rothchild how to teach Hughes how to not get his ass kicked every five days.  Then send 'em all packing.
