Maybe this is just ANOTHER early season slump, and once he gets going he can utilize the whole field more. A BOY CAN DREAM :).

And why would you assume it's anything else? He's slow out of the gate, as usual. And he'll end the season as usual with a decent average and a ton of runs scored and batted in. In case people haven't noticed, it's May 2. The season is just starting.

Tex hit .256 in 2010 and last year .248. Other then his first year in the league he never hit lower then .281. His SLG and OBP other then his first year were the lowest of his career. He makes 22.5 million a year and is only 32 years old and does nothing in the Postseason or the clutch. I'd say there is reason for concern since he is signed through 2016 and has shown decline the last 2 years and this is another big contract that the Yanks are stuck with. I think he has a no trade clause.

It could be worse . the Yanks aren't stuck with Pujlos contract for the next 10 years. Even though I'm sure he will come out of it this year that will be another Arod contract down the road.

You know you're right Joe about that bunt hit - you know how cranky I get after a loss.

Me too Loon but for all the sh!t A-Rod takes in here, he tossed his ego inot the toilet and did ANYTHING he felt could aaoid an automatic out. He ADMITS to himself, he isnt getting it done and tried another approach. NO WAY IMO, is Tex going to do that. I'm beginning to get pissed off when I see him come to the plate with RISP. He's about as stubborn a dude Ive seen in stripes in a a long time.

The last two days have been very hard to watch. Last night they couldn't hit a pitcher that had no wins and the Yanks had beaten back in Baltimore. The night before they won only because Kuroda was very good and made the two Run homer by Chavez stick. Something needs to be done because this team is much better than the one that lost yesterday.

I am tired of seeing Logan pitching to a righty. I would have used Rapada instead of Logan.

Arod & Teix ($52M/year combined) are in postseason form.

I'll say this much about A-Rod Loon, he at least bunted for a base hit last night in an effort to do anything to help the team and avoid being an automatic out. His first bunt hit in 8 years. I cant imagine Tex ever trying to do anything "outside the box."  Thank God his D is as good as it gets.

That was good to see. Maybe a few others should try that.

I'd say there would be reason for concern if he wasn't producing RBIs and Runs. His BA has gone down, but he's still a top production player. Ragging on Tex at this stage of his career (not you), and especially at this point in the young season, is beyond ridiculous.

Mark Teixeira is a notoriously slow starter.  In his first 3 years in the Bronx His April AVG is 196!  Averaging 3 HR in the month.  Each year he starts slow he always ends up with 30 +  HR and 100 + RBI and an OBP of around 350.   He is still only 32 so I don't think he's starting a decline.  Last year we all thought Jeter was declining and look at HIS start.  :) Teixeira has driven a few to the warning track that became long outs and also was robbed by the shift a couple of times.  I still think he needs to try to go to left field sometimes.

Are you concerned with Albert Pujols and 0 HR's for the season?  I think Albert STILL puts up good numbers but I think he may have trouble reaching 100 RBI.  Anaheim may have made a mistake but I think Pujols will be alright.

I worry more about AROD than TEX.  I don't think AROD belongs in the 3rd or 4th slot anymore.

His salary would indicate otherwise! Too bad salaries aren't able to hit HRs and drive in runs however.

That short right field has turn the last 2 high average with power first basemens of the yanks into pull happy clunkers.  I don't know if its pride that prevents these 2 from hitting where its pitched.  They just a popup up and K machine. at this point.

Yes, he's quite the "clunker" that Teixiera: 30+ HRs and 110 RBI a year in his Yankees career so far.

Hoo boy...
