I predicted they'll be one of the wild cards and I still say they'll get in.

Tampa will be on the outside looking in.

I don't know about that. They have a very good hitting lineup, are solid on defense and their starting pitching is very good. Their bullpen is so so, but IMO I think they'll be around at the end.

Don't know if I'd call it "very good". Their lineup doesn't scare me, and with Longoria out it got even weaker.   They are only batting .249 as a team (7th in the AL) and 5th in the AL in runs scored.  I agree their starting pitching is good.

The Rays are already overperforming their pythagorean expected W-L record by 3 games. 5-1 in 1 run games, and 1-0 in extra inning games. Those stats tend to even out over a season so I expect them to come back to earth.

I am more worried about our starting staff then what the Red Sox are doing.... 29th worst ERA so far.... Dont expect Andy to be some kind of saviour.

Let me ask you a question, if the Sox get hot and get in contention would you be worried then?  I along with most Yankee fans are hoping for the best with Andy, not the attitude "Don't expect Andy to be some kind of saviour". I don't think there are many smart fans that expect that.

Its a moot point if the Sox get hot or not if our Rotation does not drasticly improve.

The Red Sox don't scare me as much as Hughes, Tex and ARod do...

I call it very good because they have power, and speed to go 1st to third, they  bunt, and steal bases. Obviously losing Longoria is going to hurt them while he's out.

OK I'll split the difference with you, they're somewhat very, kind of good. Wink

Not worried about the blosox luvda....some of the worst pitching I've ever seen and hopefully Beckett sucks all year.

What I am worried about is Tex. He seems to be such a different player than who signed here.

Not to mention OUR pitching.

The Red Sox don't worry me at all. That bullpen against a team with decent offense will fail virtually every time.

With that bullpen, I picked them for 4th place.  They'll score a ton of runs with their lineup and get some good pitching from their top 3 starters, but the pen will cost them a playoff spot.  I see them sitting at home, again, come Octorber.

Yup, same here.

LIke in some of our games, the Red Sox offense has covered up the fact they have problems with starting pitching and their bullpen most of all.
