Seriously? The way this team is playing, they wouldn't be needing him anyway. I don't see them actually LEADING many games any time soon.

Youre a sicko AJ!

I'm a sicko because I said the team won't be winning many games?

I can't believe I'm the only one pissed at Mariano for this.  Fluke my arss.  It was totally reckless for a 42 year old pitcher to chase BP balls to the wall (like JorgeCostanza does in his basement) like that.

Seriously, shut the heck up for one night AJ. You know, screw the RISP fail by Cano and Tex,the Royals winning a game at home (which was probably going to happen on our watch anyway, just the way averages work) and take a moment to think about this.
The man who has shown class for us for 17 years, who has closed four World Series championships  and won five, always bounced back from losses is most likely finished and not on his own terms.

A man who has always represented the Yankees, baseball and himself with class is going to be forced into early retirement. And all you can do is whine. Seriously, shut your mouth.

The law of averages? Those usually kick in around the 3rd or 4th striaght loss at home, yet somehow the first loss didn't come into the Yankees trolled into town in the 11th game. This has nothing to do with the law of averages; the Yankees just can't beat anyone right now. I don't know how you ****s would think I was taking a shot at Rivera when he's one of very few on this team who's actually been performing consistently well for a long time.

Someone will step up. I'd be worried more about the starting pitching to tell you the truth. Maybe Hughes can be the 7th inning guy eventually {at least the 7th inning right hander} Robertson the 8th and Soriano the closer {he was fantastic in Tampa Bay.} If not then Soriano to Robertson. The team will hit eventually. They've got to get the starting pitching at a point where it is more dependable. Right now just Sabathia and Kuroda. Who knows how Pettitte will do?.......................Who was the guy who came up that year and went 10-0? Someone like that would be nice. The idea that the team is "done" because Rivera went down is erroneous. Who knows how Rivera would have pitched for the rest of the year? He has a history but you don't KNOW that. The Yankees are still a very talented team but they are old to a degree and old guys tweek things and when they tweek things they often don't heal very quickly. They should be alright though. When it warms up guys like Teixera and Arod should start hitting.

Lets say....  what you said  is true as Yankees won't be leading in many games.  With your stated scenario....As Yankees don't need him, it's okay with you if Rivera is done for the season.  Have a little sensitivity, Rivera is the most beloved Yankees of our times.  Your indifference to his situation is remarkably cold.

You don't get it.....He's likely to be out the the rest of the season.  What a terrible way to end an illustrious career if this is indeed his final season..  Here's what you don't comprehend........Fans didn't get a chance to give him a proper send off if this is it...You are one cold fish....

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.
