It's sad Gotta. You have the people blaming Mo..and also have people whining and moaning about how this will affect the season instead of thinking about Mo the person and his family.

Well, if I'm in the 'blame Mariano' camp it's unintentional.  I was mad that what appeared reckless fly-shagging could jeopardize a season and career of someone I so revere.  I've seen these guys playfully do this for decades, I get it.  But it was a fluke and I feel bad for him. Obviously.

I can't believe there are people around trying to blame Mariano for this ... he has been doing this forever ... there was never any worry about it ... if there had been, the team would have said something to him a long time ago.

Instead of looking to blame Mo, you should be realizing how horrible of a tragedy this is for Mariano ... and have the decency to mourn his and the Yankees loss.

Unfortunately it's the nature of many people Mo. You know? How many people in life have you known that when there is a problem, or something's gone wrong, assigning blame is more immediately important than solving the problem? I can't wait to find out how Cashman is responsible somehow. I'm sure that it has to do with how the Yankees develop god-like, legendary closers.

Well, I find it despicable to be trying to place the blame on Mariano ... a man who has given his heart and soul to this team over the years!

Hes been snagging balls in the outfield forever.  It's who he is.  What happened sucks..no doubt.  But I wouldn't change a thing about Mariano, and I can't imagine anyone would, right?

People should be thinking about how Mariano is handling this ... and how this is going to hurt him so very much ... he has given this team his heart and soul for many years ... it's a shame that anyone would try to place the blame for this terrible accident on him.

That was "shagging" balls in the outfield.  It's sounds dirty somehow with auto-correct.

WHat's also a shame that even right after the news came out, some people were whining about the loss and how this will hurt the Yankees. How about thinking about the man and his family for one day?

It's not only not Mariano's fault, it's not Girardi, Cashmans or anyone in the Yankee organizations fault
