If the Yankees don't have enough trouble in the rotation, now they need to find a 8th inning guy that will replace Rivera. That was a double two punch and now gone. I cant think of another reliver that is going to be a great 8th inning guy.

Phil Hughes! Who IMO should have long ago been pitching in the bullpen anyway. I think he'll shine as a setup guy.

The talk has been about Robertson taking over for Mo when he retires, well it just came a little earlier then we all liked.. I still think the BP will be fine, it's our hitters and starting rotation that is the problem more so then the loss of Mo...

We have a couple of players that are earning huge contracts that will never live up to their billing..  We all know who they are and unless we get some production out of them we weren't going any place in October anyways..

"IF", Andy can come back and help and we can piece together a fifth starter, we can move Hughes into the seventh inning guy, Soriano the 8th and Robertson as our closer, the bull pen will be fine.. Again Andy is going to have a huge roll as to how good of year the 2012 Yankees have...

I agree, I think Phil will shine in relief as well, he was throwing 95 in the first inning his last start with a pretty nasty curve which he should be able to do for one inning a night a few nights a week, he was lights out in 09 in the pen.

Make Soriano our closer, Robertson out 8th inning man and move Hughes to the bullpen when Pettitte gets here. Just a thought.

Robertsion is the heir because for the past several years,Mariano has been mentoring David .  He took him under his wing. If  you ever notice whenever

they show the bullpen, Rivera and Robertson are sitting together.

Mariano has said many times that Robertson has closer stuff. If  that is good enough for the greatest closer of

all time, it should be  good enough for all of us.

WHAT?  Rivera wasn't in the rotation.   And - why do we need an 8th inning guy?  we will be ok.  Rivera is not replaceable... EVER, but I think we will be ok.

God speed  MARIANO.  We miss you and love you!!  Get well..
