I still thought Hughes stuff was outstanding in his last outing. He grooved a couple of pitches but his stuff overall had terriffic movement. I'm still not giving up on him as a good midd rotation starter

I'm not either.  I thought his curve was the best I've seen it in 2 years.  His fastball location has been his real problem.  He was even throwing a little harder.  I have to wonder if the future rotation considerations are going to decide what they do with him.  Moving him to the pen is obvious choice, but that would really mess him up for next years rotation.  This is going to be interesting.

That's a great point Big about seeing if they can count on the guy for next year. The 3 of us said they once and for all see if they have anything in this kid and the fact that they only have CC and Nova as sure things next year maks this kid all the more important to them
