A-Rod: No more cap-tipping

Felipe Paulinoadded his name to the list of nondescript pitchers that have stifled the Yankees’ high-powered offense — a list that seems to be growing every day.

The Yankees were unable to carry the momentum of Friday’s win into Saturday night, dropping a 5-1 decision to the Royals as the bats continued to struggle mightily.

Paulino fired six shutout innings in his first start of the season, joining the likes of Danny Duffy, Jake Arrieta, Brian Matusz and Drew Smyly, a virtually unidentifiable group of starters that has beaten the Bombers during the past week.

“You can only tip your cap so many times to the other guy,” Alex Rodriguez said. “Essentially, we have to look in the mirror and do it ourselves.”

You mean the Yanks have been cap-tipping, A-Rod?

Even if it's somewhat misdirected on his part... getting mad is not necessarily the worst thing for Arod to do right now.  These are the things Jeter (and I love him) doesn't say.  With Posada gone, someone has to get fired up a little in the room.

Danny duffy, drew Smyles and Jake Arrieta are hardly unidentifiable. 2 of them are on my fantasy team for a good reason. They all throw 95+ and they are all young. Anyone that watches prospects knows who these guys are

I think Baltimore just put the league on notice.  By the way, put your Betances card on eBay if you haven't already... speaking of prospects.  Hope all is well in Alaska pal!

I did put one on eBay but it didn't fetch much. He's not having the year I had hoped he'd have.

Jeter is Captain on paper only. It has been hard to watch this bunch, because they are making mistakes galore, fileding, running the bases, and lack of hitting is gulling, we don´t know why they can go from hot to cold and back again. That is Long´s job to figure it out and come out with a solution. Singleton mentioned yesterday that the Yanks are either all or nothing and I agree. Watch them, their mind is on the HR.
