Fabulous Hughes.........

This certainly will provide confidence in the season ahead....7.2IP, 6H, 1R, 1BB,,4SO, 1HR   He threw 111 pitches with 70 for strikes.  Is he the player of the game  or perhaps Raul

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

I was just going to start a thread on this topic. I hope we see more of this Phil Hughes down the line.

Really good start by Hughes.  They need him to pitch well.

I need him to pitch well. I got a lot of his memorabilia. I was starting to get worried!

But it was against the Mariners troll troll...

Seriously though,it was great to see Hughes do well and not get unnerved if runners got on. Yes the Mariners suck but there have been games this season where they have mashed the ball. Same goes for the ROyals. These outings should help Hughes build up for when he faces the tougher lineups.

Solid outing, even against the weak Mariners lineup. Even against the weaker hitting teams Hughes would of been gone by the 4th or 5th inning, so it's nice seeing him go deep into the game. This has to be looked upon as a positive sign for Hughes.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game today. Was his stuff as good as his numbers looked?
