Andy is going to draw a win if the only runs are by way of walks.  Even if Andy delivers a quality start giving up 3 runs, Yankees aren't going to win with a measly 2...Undecided.  Deadwood bats is at play against Milwood..... Sealed   Time to move forward to the next series....

Only saw a couple of pitches lauren. A few questions, how was Andy's velocity and how was his command? Did he run a lot of long 3-2/2-2 counts?

Pettitte was better than I expected...velocity hit 88 on the radar gun.  For the most part his pitches caught the edge of the strike zone.  He induced quite a number of ground outs.

Here's his mistake..with two outs he walked a batter followed by a hanging pitch in giving up a  homer to deliver 2 runs.  All and he wasn't bad for his initial start.

Not thrilled with reaching 88 but hopefully some velocity comes back with arm strength

Andy gave the team enough for win against a lousy pitcher like Millwood. How do they not get more than 1 run off this guy?

Enough with the pink...that's probably why they hit so crappy.

He did hit 90 in the 2nd inning. Kay said that Andy felt fine with that velocity. It was where he was in 2010. Andy looked really sharp at times and even the 2 homers were acceptable under most circumstances. What I found interesting is that here is a guy who took a whole year off and in his first game pitches into the 7th inning.

Andy is a gamer and always was a tremendous competitor. That's why he always pitched well in the playoffs. I'll be anxious to see how he does a few starts down the road when some of the adrenaline wears off

Someone ask the Blue Jays and Rangers the same question..they couldn't hit him either.

A lot to be happy abou tAndys start. Until that last innin gwhere he gave up the foul pole HR, his pitch count was better than Millwoods. Walks never help but There was pitch or two that I thought he got squeezed on from the replay. He wasnt far off the plate either on pitches that missed. Yea, he hit 90 but most of his Fb's were 88-89. All in all very impressive after a year off IMO. If we got some hits instead of RBIs by walks, who knows?
