First game back after a full year off and a short spring and rushed minor league stint.  Was anyone really expecting much more than this from Andy? PATIENCE folks!

A lot to be happy abou tAndys start. Until that last innin gwhere he gave up the foul pole HR, his pitch count was better than Millwoods. Walks never help but There was pitch or two that I thought he got squeezed on from the replay. He wasnt far off the plate either on pitches that missed. Yea, he hit 90 but most of his Fb's were 88-89. All in all very impressive after a year off IMO. If we got some hits instead of RBIs by walks, who knows?

What was the crowd like welcoming Andy back Joe? I gotta look for some replays of the game.

It felt like a old timers game.

Now let's get Phelps back on the rotation and Andy back to Houston.

I'm encouraged by what I've read about the game and interviews...and some video highlites. If Andy can give us 6 innings with 3 or less runs, we win 90%. I grew up thinking ERA's under 3 were what a good pitcher does, now it's under 4.

Too bad Andy didn't get any run support. It's kind if stupid the only runs scored were walked in. Bases loaded twice.... Jeters dp was a real killer. I hope he's not falling back to earth.
All in all Andy did a good job.... good to have him back. I got a lot of pictures of him warming up and in the bp. I'll post some tomorrow. I actually asked Russell Martin what he thought about Andy.... he's happy he's back.
We saw Montero in the outfield he was signing Russell and fooling around.

And what did Tex do? Well, exactly what we've come to expect from the $25 million man: absolutely nothing. That pitch he struck out on with the bases loaded was halfway to China. He must be trying out for the PGA Tour now; the baseball thing doesn't seem to be working out. Cool

yes craner.... sec 104 right in front of Swisher....he's a riot, very engaging with the crowd. We got there early and watched Andy warm up in the bp. It's been a long day. I'll post pics tomorow.

They were awesome...I had goosebumps when he took the mound and the crowd cheered!
